The Perfect Marketing Strategy!

Now the question which I have for you this week is, “do you think is there a perfect thinking or perfect strategy?"

Obvious answer, right?  NO. There is NO perfect thinking or perfect marketing strategy that can solve your (or my) challenges to grow your business indefinitely. {Strategy (per dictionary definition) is a plan of action to achieve long-term or overall aim.}

Can I give you the Perfect Strategy for your business?

No ... (But I can try asking the right questions to help you figure out the right one.)

What I have learned (this is just my take and I'm sure some of you will agree) is….  No plan can ever be built perfect, the first time or second time or (sometimes) even the third time. The plan should be continuously improved based on some key quantitative and qualitative factors such as:

  • Your and/or your team’s past experiences
  • Results of your previous projects or tasks (Results can be your sales numbers, profits or level of customer satisfaction)
  • Continuous inputs from internal stakeholders (or clients, depending on the project)
  • Identifying and using the best practices in your industry

So, while you are on Spring Cleaning Spree … ask yourself some of these questions (if you haven’t already for 2017) to re-evaluate your business strategy:

  • What does an ideal client (think personality traits) look for in your business?
  • What unique value do you bring to your local market that your (online or offline) competition does not?
  • What three words should your client use in association with your business?
  • What are the top 3 mediums through which your clients get their information?
  • How can you reach them most effectively?
  • What is the ROI on your marketing plans? Rack and stack them to prioritize.

This is just sample of few questions I wanted to reflect on. I'm sure there are many questions that you are already framing in your mind (always use a good sounding board for discussion, it helps!)

Lastly, I think one of the most important (or in many cases, most underestimated) factors in successful strategies is .... does your team understand the goal or aim you are trying to achieve? AND are they working towards that day in and day out?
